Spiceh will try Broomish
[they call me Whisper]
[i was born a she-cat]
[i have walked upon this earth for 23 moons]
[i pledged my heart to Auroras Faithful]
[i am ranked a Healer]
[first glance] sobi.org/photos/Cat/Rome/Sanctuary/XA9U0465.JPG Light grey and white she-cat with light green eyes
[look] Whispers a very beautiful light grey and white cat. Most of her face is grey apart from between her nose and between her eyes and her chest, paws and shoulders are also white. Her tail is long and grey, the colour getting darker towards the tip. She has calm light green eyes that could make even the most enraged cat feel at ease and at peace with themselves. If she is angry however, her light green eyes flare with fire and this is alarming for any cat who knows her normal sweet natured gentleness. Pearly white claws sit in her light pink pads, always kept carefully sharpened if Whisper was ever to need them. She is not a big cat, but she isn't small. Her fluffy pelt makes her look bigger than she really is, especially in winter. Her body is slightly too long for her legs but this is barely noticeable unless you are looking for fault in Whisper, which nobody really does. She has long eyelashes and whiskers which are as snowy white as her paws. She is a slight cat, a little on the skinny side but not unhealthy looking. Her pelt is silky and smooth in summer and furry and warm in winter, always staying the same Grey and snowy white colour.
[listen] Whispers is a quiet, gentle Sweet natured she-cat. While she is doing her job as medicine cat she is quiet but firm, and always tries her hardest. Though she hates to see a cat in pain she loves nothing more than knowing she has done all she can to help them. Though she is quiet she is a very good friend and is always on hand to give advice and comfort and cat that needs it. She still likes to have some alone time though and is quite happy sitting in her den for hours sorting through herbs by herself. Though she loves kits, she knows she cannot have any for herself but she is fine with that, she wonders if she would cope anyway! She would like an apprentice one day, to teach them everything she knows and be happy and contented that when she passes away she has left the role of Auroras Faithful healer in the right paws. She can get slightly annoyed if she is interrupted when in the midst of her work but a quiet sharp word is normally all that anyone shall get, unless they are an enemy cat. Then they shall feel the pain of her long, sharp claws.
[learn] Kit moons: Whisper was born in a litter of two, along with her brother Dapple. Her mother, Ivory, hoped and prayed that the beautiful lights of the Aurora would shine in the sky the night her kits were born and her and her mate Bracken watched anxiously as their kits were taken to the Spire, one a dappled tom like his father, the other a grey and white she-cat, like her mother. The lights shone gloriously in the sky and the kits were accepted and returned to their parents. They grew up happily, her mother taking good care of them. Another cat, named Lilly, joined Ivory as she was pregnant with kits. They were born on a stormy day and Whisper spent a long time watching them, as she was nearly ready to move out of the nursery (if they have a nursery??) and join the proper ranks of Auroras Faithful. That night she heard her mother wish Lilly luck and the kits were taken away. She was asleep by her mothers side when she heard a yowl of anguish. Light green eyes blinking open in fright she could see nothing. The sky was dark. And Lilly screaming to the skies, being dragged out the nursery by two burly toms. Drawn in protectively by her mother, Whisper looked around, terrified. She never saw the kits again. Training moons: Whisper had decided she didn't want to be a warrior. She didn't want to fight or hunt with the other apprentices, She wanted to do something more, be more of a help to Auroras Faithful. So it was asked if she could be assigned to the Healer at the time, a kind she-cat named Willow. Whisper spent her days with Willow, learning all about the different herbs ans their uses and helped her to treat the sick. Every now and then a hysterical queen would be dragged into the Healers Den and would be given a large dose of poppy seeds that made them sleep. Willow always looked upset on these nights and finally Whisper could bear it no more. She asked Willow why the queens got so upset, why it was only on dark mights they came to the den. Willow sadly told her the story of how Aurora must accept the newborn kits by shining her lights in the sky. If the lights did not shine the kits would be thrown form the Spire as a sacrifice, all killed. Whisper thought this horrendous but then learned to accept it. If this was how Aurora wanted to do things then it must be right. She finally knew what had made Lilly so upset that night in the nursery. Warrior moons: Many moons passed as Whisper learnt everything she could from Willow. She knew the she-cat was getting old but cast it to the back of her mind. It was mid-winter and the snow was falling fast. A terrible blizzard took over the territory and Willow and Whisper had their paws full with many cats suffering from whitecough and greencough. Whisper noticed her mentor was beginning to slow down and after doing more and more she finally ended up with the whole Clan depending on her as Willow became very sick with greencough. She was ill long after everyone else had recovered. Whisper spent day and night with her mentor, growing skinny and frail as all she did was care for her. Eventually, Willow died and her last words to Whisper were to care for Auroras Faithful well. Whisper stuck by these words and does everything she can to make here late mentor proud, as she knows she will join her with Aurora one day. Now, while all this had happened her father had died of old age and her mother was in the elders den, but growing more frail and sickly by the day. Dapple had fallen in love with a pretty she-cat named Emerald and Whisper was overjoyed to hear they were having kits. Whisper was woken one night by a loud screeching. Emerald was being dragged into her den, with Dapple screaming beside her. Whisper gave Emerald poppy seeds quickly and turned to give her brother some but he had gone. Warriors ran after him but they were too late. His body was found in the morning, by the Spire and next to his kits. Emerald died soon after, through shock and pain. Moons later Ivory died a peaceful death with Whisper by her side. Now Whisper has nobody. But she does not let her grief show, and who knows maybe one day she will find a friend in somebody.
[those i hold dear] [all gone but never forgotten] Mother: Ivory Father: Bracken Brother: Dapple Mentor: Willow
[this is me] Light green eyes searched the ground. Catmint. Thats what i need. The silent form of the slim grey and white she-cat padded gently through the pine trees where she found l her herbs. Whisper looked around as she heard a sound. Her ears pricked and she froze listening intently. Voices perhaps? No. Her sharp ears did not detect any speech. Prey. She scented her way to the centre of the noise and found a noisy chattering squirrel hunting in the leaves for food. Whisper scowled. She hated noisy animals interrupting the calm silent stillness of the woods. Her slim form dropped automatically in a steady hunters crouch and creeping forward inch by inch she leapt and caught the squirrel, silencing its chattering cry with a swift bite. Burying it quickly she continued her hunt for catmint. The glorious scent filled her nose and she hurried onwards until finally she came upon the plant. Picking a large quantity of the herb she stood up and turned back home, not forgetting to pick up the squirrel she had caught on her way.
[those secret words] ? And gah, no muse :S

{Is it against Aurora's Faithful’s rules for Healers to have mates, like it is for the clans?}
They hail me as [.Void.] I walk the earth as a [.Femme.] I have gained knowledge for [.26 moons.] Blessed are those loyal to [.Aurora's Faithful.] Serving as a [.Healer.] At a glance you see me as .x.click.x. A creamy orange she-cat with darker stripes and pale ice blue eyes.
what do you see when you look at me? {appearance}; .coloration. A sleek creamy tiger-orange pelt covers her body from nose-tip to tail-tip. Her belly fur is lighter in color than the rest of her but still has a peachy tint to it. Onyx colored stripes race across her pelt weaving in an intricate pattern. On her forehead, two of these raven-colored bands form what look like slender brackets enclosing small vertical dashes and slightly spattered spots. While she has the colors of a tiger, she has the eye markings of a leopard. Thin stripes of ebony flow from the corner of her eyes around her head, giving her a majestic appearance. Also, above her eyes she has obsidian brands that look like 'eyebrows'. They give her a lot of expression and character. Her nose is small, and delicate pink in color. Her tail is short and slim and also patterned with her strange black markings. Her paws look as if the have been drenched in a shadowy liquid as they are black all the way to the top of her "elbow". Her ears are likewise dipped, but much less; just thin strands outlining the tips. Around her pupils, her eyes are icy blue-white, but they get gradually darker until they are a tranquil deep turquoise at the edges. Mixed into the enchanting blue are crystalline pricks of ivory. Her eyes are stunning, though strangely enough, seemingly devoid of of emotion and feeling. Someday, she may be enlightened with feeling again but for the moment... her outlook is not bright.
.bodice. She is very lithe, almost skinnier than is healthy. Though however much she eats, which is quite little, she never gains a pound. Some days, you can see her ribs outlined underneath her golden fur. Though when ever someone brings up the subject of her weight she replies snappily, "Who's the Healer now? I am perfectly healthy." Everything about her is small; she was the runt of the litter, she was lucky just to have survived. Her tail is slender, and her paws are so delicate calling them petite is nearly an understatement. However she doesn't seem to be bothered by any of this, and considers herself perfectly fine.
.abilities. As her nose is extremely sensitive, she is able to pick out many smells and the distinctions between them. She can pick out the odor of a certain herb in a whole bunch with ease, this is one of the things that helps her be such a great Healer. She can also smell the different diseases as they each have their own smell. If she didn't have her nose, she wouldn't be half the healer she is. Her fighting skills are greatly lacking seeing as her small size doesn't give her any advantage. She also has no will to fight, but would rather heal the weak. She has enough smarts to outwit her enemies if she had a chance. She would be able to outsmart a badger if it didn't kill her with brawn first, though she probably wouldn't have much of a chance with a fox or another cat. Her hearing abilities are also quite acute; she can hear a good amount, better than the average kit. She doesn't consider this helpful in the herbs area. She is an exceptional hunter, good enough to keep her own. But not experienced to become one of the Great Hunters of the Faithful.
But what is reflected on the inside {persona};
.the outside. {what do I show the world} Void is a kind cat, always looking out for everyone and anyone. She seems withdrawn and most cats hesitate to converse with her. It's not that anyone dislikes her. Maybe it's just those blank eyes watching with a strange look that could be interpreted as disinterest. Void doesn't seem to mind, she is herself. Occasionally, there will be a soft-hearted cat that will come along and chat with her, often to leave with a strange feeling of dislike. Void's detachedness is her own social doom. Though maybe she doesn't realize it? The most you see of Void around other cats is when she is with the kits, that is, the ones that have been graced. She enjoys her time with them, and they seem to accept her not noticing or just not caring about her aberrant demeanor. She often makes jokes, though you rarely hear actual humor in her voice. She expresses sarcasm freely, it seems to be the thing she expresses the most. Despite all that has been said, you may get the idea that she is quite lonely, but this is not true. Cats talk to her quite often and because of her status and ability of a Healer, they are quite fond of her. If only a bit put out by her emptiness.
.the inside. {all that is locked away} Void is afraid to make relationships; she has been hurt so many times. The pain is just too much for her to bear. She knows she will probably never have a mate, so instead she looks upon the kittens as if they are her own. In fact, she sees every Faithful cat as her own kit. Though at times it may not seem like that, she knows the names of every feline and is fond of them. Void finds comfort in her job as a Healer because of what happened in her past. {See her Saga} It comforts her to know that maybe she didn't save her mother, but she could save others. She takes content in the fact that she can make the future brighter for a single family. She doesn't realize how empty she really is, she doesn't even know that the cats regard her as slightly strange. She is troubled at times, and plagued by terrible nightmares every night. Other than that, she is quite content with her life. She keeps her past a secret from everybody and anybody who does not know. There are a few of the older cats who still remember the main gist of it.
.the wishes. {the desires of my heart} Though she doesn't realize it, she wants a close relationship. That is what would make her whole again, kindle her fiery spirit. She doesn't even care if it's a mate or not, just a close friend that she could confide in. Someone who would understand her, know what she wanted to say without Void actually having to say it. Someone who wouldn't think she's weird, and accept her for who she truly is. Another thing she wishes for without quite knowing it is a happy family, healthy graced kits and all. She strives to be the best healer she can be, and the day she stops is the day she has stopped living. She wishes to serve Aurora the best she can with the duty she has been given.
.the fears. {that send shudders down my spine} She fears the very thing she wants. She fears that she will be hurt again. The pain before was too much for her too bear. She’s afraid that if she ever enters another relationship, it wouldn't last. It would fade away and leave her behind with yet another scar to bear. She wouldn't ever admit it, but she's frightened of the strange new cats that moved into their territory. The ones who call themselves RainClan. She doesn't like their strange customs, and there ways of accepting all the kits, even the cursed. It's unnatural.
.the habits. {they are always with me} Void has a daily 'ritual' you could call it. Before she goes to sleep she circles around herself three times, once thanking Aurora for the day, once for the night, and once for the life Aurora gave them. She doesn't remember when she started doing it, she just remembers that her mother taught it to her as praise to their goddess. When she wakes in the morning, she reminisces all the good times she had been blessed with and ends with a short prayer of thanks. Immediately following she heads to the nearest source of water and washes herself, a sign of beginning anew each day and starting over; forgiven.
.the beliefs. {I follow my heart} Void has full faith in Aurora, even through the hard times in her life, she believes she would be dead if it weren't for her. She thinks none of their customs are barbaric, though the strange 'Clans' claim it to be so. If the kits are meant to live, then the skys would be graced with Aurora's sign. Void believes the Faithful are meant to show the true way to any cats who are non-believers.
So, do you really know me?
her saga;
Let's find out. Here's my story.
.before her birth. Her father's name was Relic, and her mother's was Ghost. They were originally of Aurora's Faithful. They fully abided by all the rules and customs, and completely agreed with them. Relic and Ghost grew up together but never really noticed each other, until they met each other when they were paired for a hunting patrol. They fell in love from then on. They lived happily, and were expecting a good litter of kits when suddenly Ghost remembered the custom of Acceptance. For some strange reason, she didn't want her kits to die. She knew it was wrong for her to think like this. She should be faithful to Aurora. But she didn't want her first litter to have the risk of dying. She shared her feelings with Relic. He agreed, later that week they fled and became loners, where they had their litter in peace. The night Void and her siblings were born, the sky was filled with Aurora's grace. Immediately Ghost and Relic felt ashamed that they ran away. They wanted to go back but knew that they would be killed as traitors to Aurora. Instead, they decided to bring up their kits according to the Faithful's customs and rules. And they promised Aurora they would never have another litter as tribute to her for the treachery.
.the beginning. Void was not always named as she was, no. Her first name was Illusion. Her siblings also had brighter names. Her sister was named Star and her brother was named Remnant. The first thing she knew was bitter cold, and surrounded by her mothers nurse her mother back to help, but it was to no avail. Ghost had contracted a fatal disease and there was no hope for her. She died in the following days. Illusion, Star and Remnant didn't know what to do. They stuck around for a day, but soon the stench of sickness became to powerful. Fearful that they would catch the disease, they commenced on an excursion.
.the middle. The going was hard and soon Illusion grew weak, as the runt of the litter she was not as strong as her brother and sister. But somehow they made it through the storms, the blizzards and all the dangerous times. Each night Illusion loyally conducted her ritual to Aurora praying that they would make it the Faithful cats alive. Finally, a miracle happened. The three traveling cats were ragged, tired, and starving. They stumbled upon the camp of the Faithful. Contrary to their originally thought, they were not greeted with welcome. Immediately, the Faithful cats were suspicious, apparently they thought they were some strange breed called 'Clan Cat' that they did not like. Star desperately tried to explain their position, but the three were captured and put in a cave until the chief would speak with them. Too weak to struggle, they laid in the cave for what seemed like days. The only good thing that came out of it was the fact they got food without having to hunt. And water, pure, clean water. Illusion savored the taste in her parched mouth. Finally the chief decided to visit them. It was Remnant who explained their story about being born outside of the Faithful, but still being apart of it. Ghost and Relic had never explained why they were born apart so that area of the tale seemed glaringly empty. Upon the finish of their journey, the chief asked the name of their parents. Illusion answered readily with the names. Ghost and Relic. Immediately the chief bristled and hissed, 'Traitors!' A wild glint in his eyes scared the three siblings, not knowing what was going on. The chief left quickly and did not return. Days later he returned, and pronounced them with his decision. 'As you are just the kits of such treachery, you will be welcome, but have one punishment.' At this Star became scared, and she proclaimed. 'What did our parents do that was so terrible?' The chief assumed a grave look and whispered half to himself, 'They do not know.' He sighed and mewed, 'I am sorry to be the one to tell you this.' He then proceeded to tell them the story of their parents. The three were shocked and could hardly believe it. Illusion did not want to believe, but it made too much sense. It fit right into place. Quietly she asked what their punishment would be, expecting something dreadful. The chief replied, 'Your names shall be changed you are not allowed to graced with the names your parents gave you. Choose this or leave the Faithful forever.' Remnant then asked if they could have the night to think it over. The chief consented and left, vowing to return at dawn. After long deliberation, the choice was made. They would accept the new names. Remnant and Star seemed against it, but Illusion desperate for acceptance finally convinced them to accept it. At dawn the chief led them from the prison and called all the cats to gather before him. They came quickly and soon the ceremony began. 'These cats have been cursed to be parented by Traitors.' He declared. 'To punish them and lift them from the curse at the same time, their names will be taken from the, and replaced with new ones. Star, step forward.' Star not the brave type, stepped forward timidly and nodded her head. 'From this day forward, Aurora will hail you as Asylum.' Newly named Asylum shuddered, and Illusion and Remnants grimaced what would their names be? 'Remnant, step forward.' He did so, a defiant look in his eyes. 'From this day forward, Aurora will hail you as Abyss.' Remnant's gaze faltered. Why were their names so terrible? Illusion thought, then remembered it was meant to be a punishment. 'Illusion, step forward.' Dread was a dead weight in her stomach and she came forward to stand beside her two siblings. 'From this day forward, Aurora will hail you as...' He paused and the moment seemed to last a life time. '...Void.' She dropped her gaze feeling her new name, maybe it wasn't that bad. Though, she still winced. A name was everything to a cat, it was their only definite belonging. And that was it, her name was now Void. You would think this would be the end of her story, but more tragedy is too come. However terribly cliché it is. Void, Asylum, and Abyss lived with Aurora's Faithful for several moons peacefully. Void began to notice that she saw Asylum and Abyss around less and less. When she questioned them about it, they tactfully avoided answering. Finally, Void had had enough. She cornered Asylum alone, knowing she would be the one to most likely give in. After repeated questioning and prodding, Asylum finally crumbled. She admitted to the fact that they had been meeting their father, Relic, secretly for the past weeks. Void didn't know what to think, and this is why Asylum and Abyss didn't tell her; they knew would not approve, she liked Aurora's Faithful too much. Asylum told her that Relic had been telling them how the Faithful had no right to change their names, and of all the horrible deeds the Faithful had done. Why would anyone want to be apart of such a horrendous tribe? Asylum and Abyss and begun believing it, it was true after all. Void was angry, she knew that soon Asylum and Abyss would leave her and go after their farther and the life he had chosen. Her suspicions came true. One morning they left, never to return. Just like her father had so long ago. Their disappearance hit her hard, but not wanting them to get in trouble she spread the rumor that they were killed. Having to convince so many cats of their terrible fate, she began to believe it herself. She became grief stricken like Ghost before her, and withdrew into herself. Moons went by with her barely surviving. Eating as little as possible, it seemed as if all hope was lost. But something made her come back. She has never told anyone exactly what it was. But it made her come out of her shell at least partially with a new ambition. The current healer was getting into old age, and she suddenly had a sure-fire determination to become the next Healer. Maybe she couldn't save her mother, or her siblings. But she would save others. She studied long and hard, and soon the Healer passed away leaving Void in succession.
.current. Void now lives with Aurora's Faithful as a proud and accomplished Healer. She still carries the wounds of her missing and deceased family, and has convinced herself even further that her siblings are now dead. She believes there is no way they could survive in the wilderness. There is only one mystery left now, one that shall remain unknown forever. That is the future.
Tell me now. Do you still wish to be my friend with all my secrets uncovered?
Listen to my melody.{roleplay example}
Gentle dawn light sifted in through the brush covering the opening of the den. In the silence, a quiet rustling could be heard. Void moved again, and peeked through her brilliant blue eyes and sighed. It was morning already, she wished she could sleep dreamlessly just once and get some rest. She shook her head, dislodging a piece of moss the got stuck between her amber ears. Void stretched her tense body, reaching as far as she could. She sat up and closed her lids, Thank you, Aurora, for this day. She thoughts quickly, and then headed outside. A crisp breeze brought a chill down her spine and she shivered. Her herb supplies was pretty much diminished from that last wave of sickness that swept through and she wanted to gather as many herbs as she could before Winter killed them all. She waved her tail in greeting to a few passing cats but pressed on. In moments she was out of the camp. She lifted her soft pink nose and sniffed the wind. A dozen sharp scents hit her, making her eyes water. There had to be a fox denned up somewhere close by. Shaking her head to clear her senses, she picked a single odor out and began to track it down. It took less time than usual due to the fact that most animals had holed up or migrated for winter. She bent down and began to pluck the leaves tentatively one by one. Careful not to pierce the skin, or she'd spill it's special healing juice. Right as she was finishing up, she heard a cracking noise behind her. She jumped slightly and immediately sniff the air. Dang it! She thought, whatever it was happened to be downwind. She could tell from the noise that it was an animal, which one, she couldn't tell. Her thoughts flashed back to the fox smell. Oh no! There was no way she could fight off a fox! She felt dread in the pit of her stomach, and fear slide down her spine like an icicle. As she waited for the creature to show itself....
A flash of red was the next thing she saw. She hurriedly crouched defensively as the fox attacked. The scent identified that was a vixen, and she was hungry. Immediately Void made her fur stand on end to make her appear slightly larger than she really was. The vixens ivory claws flashed ominously as they swept toward her. Hastily, she darted out of the way and without hesitation flung herself on the Vixens back scratching her viciously and even managing to get a bite in there. But Void was much too light and the vixen immediately threw her off. It was then that Void knew her death was near, and she worked her brain trying to come up with anyway to escape. Suddenly, it clicked. She dodged another blow from the fox, but missed it. Her flank began to bleed, wincing but not forgetting her plan. She feigned a left attack and flew right. Bounding away she searched for the nearest, largest tree. She could her the fox snarling behind her, and could tell it was gaining ground, fast. There! With a flying leap she jumped at the tree, clawing up it's massive trunk she made it safely to the first branch. Without stopping, she kept climbing until she was much higher than the fox below her. She breathed a sigh of relief, she would live. Likely, she would be in this tree for quite sometime... but she would still live. Below her, the vixen was growling and snapping in some strange twisting language. Void just rolled her eyes and whispered to herself, "You can't get me now.".

caught in the moment xxI was blessed as Chaffinch M or F? Male; Tom I've been alive for 30 moons I stay loyal to Aurora's Faithful I rank as a Healer Take a glance in my direction A mottled tom with dark, peat-colored eyes.
now look closer, closer... From a collection of feathers, Chaffinch was created. Feathers of brown and feathers of black. Feathers of white and feathers of gray. All of this is arranged beautifully in the large frame named Chaffinch. He’s not the size of a songbird, despite the name; he’s more bird of prey material, like a condor or a kestrel. His pelt is banded in black with dark brown being the main hue in his pelt. Off-white tones are set on his muzzle and dabbed on his face like flecks of paint. While he has a delicate step, his elegant paws--colored black--are large and spaced out, like a duck’s foot, and are perfect for running on muddy ground. Chaffinch, altogether, is a rather large cat, composed of rolling shoulders, spine and hips, swaying tail, and graceful, arching neck and head. Chaffinch’s eyes are the hue of fresh soil, a beautiful brown color that gives the impression of great wisdom and religious piety. Oval and rimmed in a brown so dark it‘s black almost, Chaffinch’s eyes are always alert and ready to go at any time. Finishing his pentagonal face is his crimson triangular nose that sits primly on a rounded muzzle flanked in extremely long whiskers. From her head seeks his spine, rumbling down past his shoulders and hips to become a bob tail, which seems awkward compared to the rest of his massive body. It’s probably the size of his pointed ear, maybe more, and it resembles a rabbit’s cottontail, except that it’s completely black and covered in shaggy fur.
look inside of me, it's more complicated than you'll know... Imagine a mess of string. It's all knotted up, a jumbled oblivion. That's what Chaffinch's emotions are like. All tyed up, and almost impossible to unknot and sort out. As long as Chaffinch has been alive, his emotions have stacked up, unsolved. Instead of trying to figure them out, he pushes them aside. And the knot grows bigger and tougher to undo. Sometimes he's dead calm. He's not happy or mad, he's just calm. Someone could blow up in his face, and he would just blink and turn away. Sometimes that knot of tangled emotions confronts Chaffinch. He'll yell at almost anyone, or scream random things. Several times he was told off by Cobalt, that if he didn't calm down, he would be sent into exile. And Chaffinch would shut up. But the emotions were always there, and always will be, until Chaffinch takes some time and patience to unknot the tangle.
my nightmarish past haunts me at every moment... kit Poinsetta and Lion grew up together, from kithood to both becoming hunters. As long as they had been best friends, it was obvious that they were going to end up together. When they finally become old enough, they started a family. Poinsetta bore Chaffinch, his sister Rain, and his brother Fog. They were all very active in their first moons. Around the same time, a friend of Poinsetta also had kits. And from that litter came Robin, aka Chaffinch's best friend. She was his everything. They hung out together, they got in trouble together. It seemed that they would have the same future as Chaffinch's parents. But not so. youngling Chaffinch started out as a willing, hard-working youngling. He and Robin became the top younglings, even topping the older ones that were almost ready to become hunters and fighters. His parents were super proud of him. Even though they didn't watch over him anymore, they paid more attention to Chaffinch than Rain or Fog. Fog didn't mind, because she didn't like being in the spotlight anyway. But Fog was jealous of his brother. One night, Fog cornered Chaffinch and told him to lay off, or else. Chaffinch refused to. Fog threatened him again, then ran off. And the next day, Poinsetta was found dead. Her body was foudn impalied on the spire of the Shrine. Chaffinch knew that Fog had done this as punishment. [After this, Fog was never seen again.] Chaffinch became withdrawn. Robin often tried to talk to him about it, but he wouldn't tell her anything. Sometimes, they would go out into the vast territory to scream at each other. But the always made up. Chaffinch always said that he was going to get over it, but he never did. And then one time, he took the arguement too far. Chaffinch had started talking about how he knew his brother had killed Poinsetta. And Robin started defending Fog. That really pissed him off. He lashed out at her. She struck back. That started a full-fledged fight. And when the battle was over, Robin lay on the ground, battered and scratched all over. Chaffinch knew he had gone waaaay too far. He ran back to camp, acting as if nothin had happened. No one figured out that he had killed her. He sobbed a lot when her body was found. No one found this suspicious, since they had been very close. But he was really crying because he killed her. healer-in-training After Chaffinch killed Robin, Chaffinch just stopped caring. He put no effort in his training, despite encouragement from everyone around him. Chaffinch had thoughts of suicide running in his head. He became super-moody. Sometimes he was calm, sometimes he blew up at someone for no reason. He overheard his instructor talking to Cobalt about having Chaffinch train for an extra moon become he was so far behind now. Chaffinch became outraged. Right then and there, he was about to launch himself at the instructor when the old healer, Acai, ran toward Cobalt. She said something about having a dream from Aurora. She said that she had been told Chaffinch was supposed to train with her. Because she has healer, he had to trust her. And, then, Chaffinch started training as healer. healer-at-last Chaffinch enjoyed being a healer more than being a warrior. While he still moody, he was more calm than angry. His duties kept him occupied and his thoughts away from Robin. Even though he had been a great youngling in the beginning, he agreed that becoming a healer had been better. He grew close to Acai, and they became each other's confidentees. Soon after he had his healer ceremony [meaning he was a healer like Acai, then], Acai then died. She had been really old anyway. Everyone, including Chaffinch, knew Aurora would take Acai soon anyway, bu he still took it hard. He wasn't as mad as he had been when Robin died, but he still sometimes yelled at his clanmates. Only his dedication to his duties kept him from killing someone else through that period in his life. But he finally got over Acai's death one night, when he realized, What is being mad going to do about it? She's gone. So he finally stopped being mad about her. But even now, he still might lash out at anyone, anytime. Because he still hasn't gotten over Robin. a flash into the past...an RP Chaffinch and Robin were standing, facing each other. The beautiful landscape of Aurora's Faithful's territory seemed so gawdy compared to the heat that passed between them. Green, tall grasses surrounded them. Small, colorful wild flowers waved in the gentle wind that blew through the territory. The Crescent River was nearby, as Chaffinch could here it pounding and roaring from where he and Robin stood. It had rained a few days before, and there was a faint smell of wet peat in the air. The Tempest Woods stood not too far off, since the practically covered the whole territory. Chaffinch turned his eyes away from the surroundings and back to Robin's green eyes. Anger flashed in them, like lightning bolts, and Chaffinch had to look turn away. The silence between them lengthened between. Finally, she spoke. Well? He finally looked back at her, his face in a frown. She looked even more mad, but he faced her head on. Well, what? What do you want me to say? Robin unsheathed her claws, and they sunk into the ground. I want you to tell me the truth. Do you still think your brother killed Poinsetta? Chaffinch pawwed the ground, frustrated. Of course he thought that. He knew. But he could never tell Cobalt of his suspicions. There was no evidence. And anyway, what good what it do? Fog had run away a moon ago. It was too late for confessions. Of course I do. Who else would stick my mother on the spire of the Shrine? Who else would do something as horrible as that? Robin shook her head, stubbornly. They had been through this conversation before, several times in the past moon. It usually hadn't lasted this long, though. By now, Robin would have moved on to another subject, or she would turn away, toward the scent of a vole creeping in the tall grass. But she seemed determinded now to change his mind. Every minute, more and more rage filled Chaffinch's insides. His instinct told him that if this didn't stop now, something dangerous was going to happen. I don't know, Chaffinch, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't him. Why can't you just accept that? Her tone was sad now, like she was about to cry. Chaffinch was confused. Why would she cry over his brother? It made no sense. Why do you care? It's not you liked him that much... He trailed off, because then he realized something. He couldn't name, he could barely think it. But it made more angry than he had ever been before. His tone became harsh. Why did you care?? Did you like him better than me? Were you in on this? Then Robin looked confused. What are you talking about? In on what? But he couldn't stop. You helped him kill her! And now she's dead! How COULD you?! He let out a cry, and launched himself at Robin. He knocked her over on her back. She screamed, What are you doing?! I did nothing! I didn't kill her! Don't you believe me? But then his small youngling claws dug into her stomach. She screamed louder than before. She flung herself upward and slashed as his stomach. They became a screeching, hissing tussle of Chaffinch's multi-colored fur and Robin's dark brown fur. But this was no fake tussle. This battle for who was right. And Chaffinch was determined more than ever to win this fight. Finally, they broke apart. They both had cuts and scratches all over. It was amazing that both of them could cause that much damaged, since they were still just younglings. The ground and grass surrounding them had some blood splotches. They crounched a few tail-lengths away from each other. They both panted hard. Then, they finally stopped and looked at each in the eyes. Robin's eyes were pleading. Please, Chaffinch, won't you listen to me? But just that statement was just too much for him to take. He launched himself at her. But she was too tired to fight back. He aimed for her throat, and hit the mark. He cut her whole throat open. When he realized what he had done, he stepped away. His heart seemed to stop beating. He had killed Robin. He let out a long, throaty yowl of sorrow. And, then, like the coward he was, he ran.
